of infections during the monsoon and this season might not be very pleasant for
them. Pet parents/owners have to take a lot of care to see to it that their
pets stay disease-free this season.

in taking care of your dogs in monsoon.
1.Fungal infection in your dog’s
paws, abdomen is a common in rainy season. You may also notice pimples, redness
of skin or itching sensation. Please pay extra attention to keep your dog clean
in rainy season and apply some anti-fungal powder regularly.
2.Dogs with closed ears run the
risk of accumulating moisture which may lead to ear infections. Wipe your dog’s
ears dry post bath or after he returns home from walk or rain.
3.Add fibrous fruits and
vegetables into your dog’s diet, which will help his regular bowel movements,
even if you don’t get a chance to walk too much due to rains. You should also
try engaging your dog in some indoor exercises to prevent obesity.Try not
giving your pet non-vegetarian food during the rains mainly because they might
face some kind of digestion problem.
4.Monsoon showers are often
accompanied by loud thunders which can scare your dog. To avoid this create a
safe place for your dog where he can go to when frightened e.g. leave a bedroom
door open if he likes to sneak under the bed.
5.Keep your dog’s sleeping area
free of mosquitoes, fleas, ticks and bugs as these can lead to tick fever and
other monsoon diseases.
6.You may consider making dog
wear a doggie raincoat.If your dog has a history of skin related allergies.
7.Provide your pet boiled or
filtered water.
8.`Don not allow your dog to chew
grass during the rains.
9.Monsoons lead to a rise in worm
related diseases like anemia, general debility anorexia, dullness of
coat and
many other complications.De worm your dog regularly.
10.Dogs with really long hair and
need to be scrubbed well during the monsoon.
